Lent, Ladies Altar Society & Adult Religious Education

Season of Great Lent

Join us every Friday at 6:30 PM during the season of Great Lent for the Stations and Benediction of the Holy Cross. A Lenten potluck meal will follow at the MCC. Bring your favorite Lenten dish to share.

Second Collection

There will be a second collection on Sunday March 19, 2017 for the St. George Building Fund. This collection will take place quarterly and will be used for the maintenance of the church and the grounds.

Annual Lenten Appeal

The Annual Lenten Appeal for the Eparchy of Our Lady of Lebanon is now taking place. The Bishop’s Annual Appeal is conducted each year during Lent to ask for support for the most urgent needs in the Eparchy. The Eparchy relies upon you to support our Maronite parishes, like this one, and train our future Maronite priests. Every family is asked to participate in the Appeal at a level which is meaningful for them and be generous. You can mail your donation, drop it in the collection basket, or make it online at https://www.stgeorgesa.org/donations/lenten/

Our parish’s goal for this year’s Appeal is $11,000.00. Please be generous and support your Eparchy. Thank you.

40 Cans for Lent

During Season of Great Lent, we team up with St. Brigid Church the in the annual Lenten non-perishable food drive. Donate one can for every day of Lent per parish family. Donations support the food pantry, which is organized and supported by the St. Brigid chapter of St. Vincent de Paul Society. Donations are handed out in the coming year, to those less fortunate in our surrounding community. Let’s make this a successful drive!

Adult Religious Education

We are preparing to start an adult religious education class for those who are interested in learning more about the Catholic and Maronite Faith.  We offer an opportunity to come together in a small group to learn more about our faith. Sessions focus on the teachings and experience of the Church and give participants a better understanding of the teachings of the Catholic Church. If you are interested, please contact Fr. Charles for more information.
